    Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer

    Department: TP)Manufacturing Team 1

    Shift: Core business hours are Monday - Friday, 8AM-5PM

    Direct Report: Team Manager

     

    Job Purpose

    To perform advanced or specialized engineering duties in the Manufacturing Team generally focused on work standardization, process improvements, project management for MRO ordering, and root-cause analysis for quality and production issues.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Utilize advanced, professional engineering knowledge to assist in root-cause analysis, process improvements, and the standardization of work for operators
    • Conduct monthly inventory. identify, document, and investigate discrepancies
    • Perform full-cycle project management for MRO ordering (project specifications, RFQ, bidding contracts, consultations, and invoices)
    • Communicate with quality or manufacturing operators and management regarding root-cause analysis for quality and production issues in the manufacturing processes
    • Write and manage work instructions and One Point Lessons
    • Build a good rapport with suppliers and other manufacturers
    • Prepare for OE audits and quality inspections
    • Complete supportize tasks in the Manufacturing Team
    • Perform any additional duties or extra projects as assigned by management

    Core Competencies

    Required Knowledge

    • Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
    • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
    • Mathematics - Knowledge of applied statistics is greatly preferred
    • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
    • Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in continuous process improvement

    Required Skills 

    • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
    • Project Management - Excellet time management skills to successfully work on multiple projects at once. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
    • Active Listening & Speaking - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times; talking to others to convey information effectively
    • Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
    • Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action

    Qualifications

    Education: 

    • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering major required; Mechanical Engineering major preferred

    Experience: 

    • Relevant experience preferred; previous experience in the manufacturing industry desired
    • Lean manufacturing and rubber industry experience is a plus
